Do you know the classification and function of engine mounts?

2024-04-10

When the engine is running, there may inevitably be shaking. At this point, the engine mount is very important. The use of engine mounts not only fixes the position of the engine, but also prevents engine shaking, effectively protecting the safety of the engine and allowing car owners to drive with confidence.

Classification of engine mounts

Simply put, there are two types of engine mounts, one is torque mount and the other is engine foot mount. The main function of engine foot glue is to fix and shock absorber, mainly as a torque bracket! A torque bracket is a type of engine fastener that is usually connected to the front axle of a car body. Unlike common engine foot glue, the foot glue is directly installed on the rubber pier at the bottom of the engine, while the torque bracket is installed on the side of the engine in a way similar to an iron bar. There will also be torque bracket adhesive on the torque bracket for shock absorption.

The function of the engine bracket

The engine bracket is used to fix the engine, and if there is a problem, it cannot be securely fixed. So when the engine is running, there will definitely be shaking problems, especially at high speeds, which will not only be accompanied by a "boom" sound, but in severe cases, it can also cause the engine to crash.

The cause of engine vibration

But if the engine vibration is obvious, not all situations are attributed to the engine bracket, it is likely that the rubber on the engine feet has failed. You should know that foot glue is a rubber block between the engine and the frame, which can effectively reduce the vibration and buffering during engine operation. But if the maintenance is not good on a regular basis, it may be severely damaged in less than 3 years, and then the engine will naturally shake.

In fact, the function of engine mounts is not limited to fixing the engine, but can also effectively reduce the vibration generated by the engine during operation. If there is no engine bracket to fix the engine, the engine will inevitably shake during operation, and the engine may be damaged at this time.
